Restaurants & cafes
A fast cashier screen and QR receipts for dining rooms, counters and takeaway.
A restaurant or café rings up many small orders every day, and each one is a simplified tax invoice with a QR code and 15% VAT. Fatooraz gives the counter a POS built for that rhythm, prints Arabic and English receipts, and closes each shift into records you can review without a spreadsheet.
Problems we see in this industry
Queues grow when the till is slow
At lunch and after evening prayers, every extra tap at the counter lengthens the line. A slow screen or a hunt for the right item makes some customers walk out before they pay.
Receipts that miss the e-invoicing basics
A till slip with no QR code, no seller VAT number or no clear 15% breakdown does not meet the e-invoicing rules, and fixing it later means issuing a credit note and a new invoice.
Mixed payments that do not add up at close
A table that pays part in cash and part by card, or a shift handed over mid-day, makes the totals drift. Without one session close covering every payment method, finding the gap can take hours.
Catering and office orders need full tax invoices
Companies and event hosts ask for a tax invoice with their VAT number and agreed payment terms, not a till slip. Mixed in with counter sales, those orders leave the books untidy and make it hard to tell who has paid.
How Fatooraz helps
A cashier screen built for the queue
Tap items, take cash, card or a split of both, and print in seconds. At the end of the shift, close the session and see every payment method totalled. The till keeps selling through short connection drops.
Point of sale (POS)A simplified tax invoice with QR on every sale
Each order issues a simplified tax invoice with the QR code and 15% VAT shown clearly. Fatooraz is designed for the requirements of ZATCA Phase 1 and Phase 2, so issued invoices stay locked and corrections go through credit notes.
ZATCA e-invoicing (Fatoora)Bilingual receipts for every guest
Print receipts in Arabic and English so residents and visitors read the same invoice. The interface and reports stay right-to-left, which keeps staff comfortable and training on the screen short.
Arabic-first and bilingualOrganised accounts for catering and corporate orders
Issue tax invoices with payment terms, record partial payments as they arrive and check each invoice’s status, whether unpaid, partly paid or paid, so you know what office and event clients still owe.
Billing and paymentsE-invoicing for this industry
Counter, dine-in and takeaway sales are normally simplified tax invoices, issued at the till with a QR code and, under Phase 2, reported to ZATCA within 24 hours. Catering for VAT-registered companies calls for standard tax invoices, which are cleared first. Refunds are credit notes. Follow ZATCA announcements to see when your wave applies.
Numbers owners keep an eye on
- Average ticket value
- Orders served per hour at peak
- Payment mix across cash, card and split
- Refunds and credit notes per shift
Frequently asked questions
Does a dine-in or takeaway receipt need a QR code?
Yes. Sales to individual customers are simplified tax invoices, and since Phase 1 they carry a QR code. Fatooraz adds it to every receipt together with the seller details and the 15% VAT breakdown. Check ZATCA announcements for when Phase 2 reporting applies to you.
How do I handle an order the customer returns after paying?
Issue a credit note linked to the original simplified invoice instead of deleting it, because issued invoices cannot be edited under the e-invoicing rules. The refund appears as its own document, and your VAT reports reflect both the sale and the return.
Can the cashier keep working if the internet drops during service?
The POS is designed to keep working through short connection drops, so a brief outage at lunch does not stop the queue. Under Phase 2, simplified invoices are reported to ZATCA within 24 hours, which gives the connection time to recover.
